NCV (Nerve Conduction Velocity)

NCV (Nerve Conduction Velocity) or NCS (Nerve Conduction Studies) is a minimally invasive test used to determine the speed and strength of electrical signals which the peripheral nerves conduct. The NCV test is performed along with the EMG (Electromyography), both of which help in diagnosing whether our body suffers any nerve damage or dysfunction which may lead to some serious neuromuscular disorder.

 An NCV test can diagnose the following disorders:

• Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
• Guillain-Barre Syndrome
• Radiculopathy (nerve root problems in the spine)
• Peripheral nueropathy
• ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) 
• Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP)
